In the morning, do you jump in the shower and wash your hair? Are you usually on autopilot, and you aren’t really paying attention to what you are doing? Well, there are important things to remember in order to keep your hair healthy, shiny and full of body! So below we’d like to give you some tips on how to get great hair everyday!
Tip 1: It’s important to detangle your hair before your shower because your hair is more fragile and more likely to break when it is wet. So, if you take a few extra minutes and detangle your hair when it’s dry – you’ll have less breakage!
Tip 2: When washing your hair remember to focus shampooing the roots and conditioning the ends of your hair. This will keep give your tresses a healthy shine.
Tip 3: Warmer isn’t always better. Everyone loves a hot shower in the morning, especially in the winter. But hot water can dry out your skin and your hair. If you stick to warm water, you’ll have healthier, shiner hair.
Tip 4: Less is sometimes more. Are you one of those people who just squeeze out a lot of shampoo and conditioner – without even thinking? Well, an important thing to keep in mind is that fine-textured hair only needs a dime-sized amount of product. If you have thicker hair, than a quarter-sized amount will just do just fine.
Tip 5: Wrap don’t rub. In order to prevent against split ends, wrap your hair gently in a towel for a few minutes instead of rubbing it dry.

Everyone loves to be pampered – especially celebrities. We’ve looked up and found some of the most expensive spa treatments that celebrities love, and we wanted to share them with you!
Mila Kunis loves diamond and ruby facials. This $7,000 facial is a posh procedure that gives skin an glow. It uses tiny, precious stones as antioxidants for the skin. Before any big event, including the Golden Globes, it’s a must do.
Serena Williams bathes in Evian. At Miami’s Hotel Victor, you can get the Evian Experience – and it’s only $5000 (remember you have to stay in a $6000-a-night penthouse suite). This decadent bath uses 1000 liters of Evian spring water and colorful Gerber daises.
Angelina Jolie indulges in caviar skin cream. Jolie’s beauty regimen includes La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Luxe Cream at $710 for a 100ml container. This expensive little cream is said to be full of protein-rich ingredients that moisturize and firm.
Gwyneth Paltrow goes crazy for snake venom. That’s right – snake venom. For only $185 for a 1 oz. container, Sylvia Dakar’s UltraLuxe-9 products contain a synthetic venom that essentially paralyzes the skin. Although it sounds crazy, you have to admit she looks youthful.
Teri Hatcher has found another use for red wine. It’s been reported that Hatcher pours a glass of red wine into her bath everyday for skin-softening effects. Not enough luxury for you? Well, Les Sources de Caudalie in France offers many wine therapy procedures, including a two-day win barrel bath and merlot wrap.
Victoria and David Beckham can’t get enough bird poop. Okay, so this one might be the most bizarre. Both Beckham’s enjoy the Geisha Facial, also known as the “bird poop facial” because nightingale droppings are used in the treatment. Sound weird? Well, just think about paying $180 for a 60-minute session. However, it does promise to “soften, brighten and nourish the complexion.
So which bizarre treatment would you try? Do you have any bizarre beauty regimes to share? Let us know by commenting on our blog or visiting our Facebook page!

Winter can be a harsh time for your hair. Excessive heat can damage your hair and make it frizzy. On the other hand, using serum can weigh your hair down and make it heavy and unmanageable. So what should you do? Well, below are 3 tips to keep your hair shiny and smooth this season!
1. THINK EVERY OTHER DAY
Washing your hair everyday can take away essential moisture that your hair needs, leaving it brittle and dry. It’s recommended that you wash your hair every other day or once every few days, but if you are a wash your hair everyday type of girl, then consider alternating shampoos and use a lighter shampoo every other day.
2. CONSIDER A DRY SHAMPOO
Dry shampoos come in a spray can and are easy to use. They give your hair a break from daily washing, but still give you the light cleanse you’re looking for – and there’s no water needed!
3. TREAT YOURSELF
It’s important to treat your hair, especially during the winter, in order to repair damaged, dry hair. Deep conditioning treatments (hot oils or hair masks) will leave your hair looking shiny and smooth – just what the hair doctor ordered! If you want to keep your hair moisturized and strong this season, consider treating hair once a week.

Do you have amazing hair tips? Or have you heard some that are just too good to be true? Well we’ve teased through them and separated fact from fiction, just for you!
Questions
- True or False: A blast of cold water at the end of your shower can conquer frizz and leave your hair shiny.
- True or False: Washing your hair everyday will make it fall out faster.
- True or False: Stress can make your hair fall out.
- True or False: The right kind of product can mend those split ends.
- True or False: Pluck one gray hair and watch three more grow in its place.
Answers
- This is a fact! Cold water (or even a blast of cool air from your hair dryer) helps to seal the cuticle, which seals in moisture and leaves hair looking smooth and shiny.
- This is all fiction! Typically, you can expect to lose 100 strands of hair per day, regardless of washing it or not washing it. However, let’s say you haven’t washed your hair in a few days, well you may notice more hair in the drain because water hasn’t washed away the strands from the previous day.
- True, true, true! Stress has so many damaging effects, and your hair is not immune! Stress can block important nutrients from getting to your strands, and it can trigger your hormones to shed hair prematurely. So our advice to you – relax (which you can definitely do at Confetti’s, by the way!)
- Nope, sorry to say this one is false. The end of your strands is the oldest part of your hair, and once they split -well, it’s over. The only way to cure those split ends is to trim your hair every 6 to 8 weeks. The best way to avoid split ends (other than a trim) is to moisturize.
- Fiction. So your strands (gray or otherwise) cannot send messages to others saying, “Hey, I’m going to be plucked, so three more of you – get ready to turn gray!” Now, don’t go grab a mirror and start plucking those grays because that can damage your hair follicles. The better choice – invest in color.
If you have damaged, unruly or (gasp) gray hair and you are unhappy with the way it looks – well, Confetti’s Hair and Body Studio can help! Visit us online or come see us!
